I am a political theorist. My research focuses primarily on military institutions, with additional interests in citizenship and taxation. I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Blavatnik School of Government and an incoming Junior Research Fellow at Wolfson College at the University of Oxford.

I hold a PhD in Politics from the University of Göttingen and an MA in History of Political Thought from Queen Mary & UCL. My research has appeared in The Journal of Politics, European Journal of Political Theory, and Politische Vierteljahresschrift. In a former life, I worked for the German think tank Das Progressive Zentrum.
