I am a political theorist. My research interests are in military institutions, citizenship, and taxation.

Currently, I am a Lecturer at Goethe University Frankfurt. From February 2026, I will be a Walter Benjamin Research Affiliate at the University of Oxford.

I hold a PhD in Politics from the University of Göttingen and an MA in History of Political Thought from Queen Mary & UCL. I also held visiting positions at the University of Chicago, the University of Exeter, and the University of Copenhagen. In a former life, I worked for the German think tank Das Progressive Zentrum.
